Dalmore Munich
The Brief
We were approached to develop a gondola end fixture for Dalmore Whisky at Munich International Airport. Our brief was to provide a detailed manufacturing package, in order to instruct a local production house of the approved design in order to manufacture from.
The Process
We were initially provided a 3D concept visual and overall unit sizes along with a detailed set of requirements from the brand. We developed this in Solidworks as a steel and joinery fabrication, with toughened glass shelving and safety gallery rails. The base of the fixture was illuminated to provide a reverse halo effect, and the shaped side panels had key line details with inlaid copper plates to provide a luxurious detail. The fixture had to have an integrated isolation switch for the lighting and all drivers had to be concealed yet serviceable from within the rear steel carcass. The unit also had to adhere to local airport fire/safety regulations.
